Regency Alliance Insurance, Limited Ghana formerly began operations recently following its re- certification by the country’s National Insurance Commission.( NIC). The company was among the 25 insurance companies that were given the nod to continue as underwriters after the conclusion of the recapitalization ordered by the Ghanaian government. Regency Alliance Insurance plc, Nigeria had last year acquired Benefits Insurance Company Limited of Ghana as part of its expansion programme in West African coast. The company’s name has since been changed to reflect the new ownership structure.
The company’s Head Office has also been relocated to the high browse Airport Residential Area, Accra. Our Regional Director, Port-Harcourt, Bode Oseni has been seconded to Ghana as Managing Director/CEO. Also deployed to the subsidiary is Olayiwola Farodoye of the Technical department. Some professionals have been hired to beef up the team. They include a distinguished chartered insurer, Faris Elias Attrickie who is Assistant Director, Technical and Martin Akondor, Assistant Director, Marketing.
The subsidiary has also acquired a new insurance software package to drive its operations. Group Managing Director, Biyi Otegbeye had told newsmen earlier this year the company would open subsidiaries in five West Africa countries including Gambia and Sao Tome. |
