Honourable Justice A.G. Karibi-Whyte was a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria until his retirement from the Bench in January 2002. He is presently the Chancellor, Rivers State University of Technology, Port Harcourt.
Karibi-Whyte was a member of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia from its inception on November 17, 1994. he had earlier served as a Judge of the Court of Appeal from 1980 to 1984, while in 1976 to |
1980, he was a Judge of the Federal High Court.
A former University Don, Karibi-Whyte was at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, 1965-1971. He was a Research Officer in Law, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, 1962 to 1965. He was called to the English Bar in Middle Temple in 1961.
